Voice and consent policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
CastMyListing can narrate your videos in your own voice. Because a voice is personal and can be misused, we only create a voice from a recording you make yourself, with your spoken consent. This policy explains how that works.
How your voice is collected
- You record about a minute of speech in your browser, reading a short script we show you.
- The recording must include a consent statement, spoken by you, saying that you agree to your voice being used to narrate your own CastMyListing videos.
- We store a consent record with it: the consent statement, the time you recorded it, and the IP address it came from.
How your voice is used
- Only to narrate videos in your own account.
- Never for anyone else's videos, never sold, and never used to train AI models.
- When cloud voices are on, your voice sample and the script text are sent to our voice provider (MiniMax or ElevenLabs) to generate the narration, under their terms for business customers. Otherwise the voice is generated on our own servers.
Only your own voice
You may only record your own voice. Recording, uploading or cloning another person's voice is not allowed, even if you have a recording of them or they are a colleague. Each team member who wants their voice used must create their own account and record their own consent.
Biometric information
Some laws, such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act, treat a voiceprint as biometric information. We treat your voice recording, and anything derived from it to narrate your videos, that way wherever you live:
- We collect it only after you tick the consent box and speak the consent statement. The ticked box is your written release.
- We use it only to narrate your own videos. We never sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from it, and never disclose it except to the voice provider that generates your narration, or where the law requires.
- We protect it with the same or stronger care as other sensitive information in our systems.
- Retention and destruction: we permanently delete your voice recording and anything derived from it when you delete the voice, when you delete your account, or 3 years after your last use of the service, whichever comes first.
Deleting your voice
You can delete your voice at any time in the brand kit. Deleting it removes the recording from our servers; videos already rendered with it are not changed. Deleting your account also deletes your voice. We keep the consent record for as long as needed to show that the voice was created with consent, and no longer than the law requires.
AI-generated speech
Narration made with your voice is generated by AI. Some platforms and places require AI-generated or synthetic media to be labeled; you are responsible for following those rules when you post.
Misuse
If you believe your voice has been used without your consent, write to . We will investigate, remove the voice and any affected content, and close accounts that misuse voices.
